Red Salute to Che Guevara

Comrade Ernesto Che Guevara was born on June 14, 1928 in Argentina. As a leader of the Cuban revolution he served in several posts before returning to Bolivia. Executed by Bolivian army backed by CIA in 1967 he has since been regarded as a martyred hero by generations of leftists worldwide.

Che Guevara was a rugby and chess player, an asthma sufferer, a doctor, a motorbike rider, a poet, a guerrilla commander, a father, ahusband, a diary writer, a writer and a revolutionary. During the international student movement in 1968, a photograph of Chi taken by photographer Alberto Corda was printed on millions of T-shirts and posters.

On the eve of his birthday DSF salutes the revolutionary hero of millions of youth and students struggling against imperialism and exploitation for peace, democracy and social justice.
