Comrade Qazi vists KPK province

THE STATEMENT ISSUED BY COM. IMDAD QAZI, SECRETARY GENERAL, CPP, ON THE CURRENT SOCIO-POLITCAL SITUATION IN THE COUNTRY

-------------------------------------------------------

The socioeconomic condition of the country has taken an appalling turn. The State cannot boast of having not encroached on any fundamental rights of people - let alone granting - or having semblance of resolving basic problems of  any of the federating units of KP, Balochistan, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Sindh and Punjab.

These views were expressed by SG, CPP and the Convener of the newl-formed Leftist 13-party Alliance, Progressive Alliance, during his 4-day tour to the districts of Buner, Swabi and Peshawar while addressing the meetings held in parts of each district.  Conversely, the members of the ruling elite,  whose role - even if euphemistically termed - is no other than demeaning brokers of the imperialist lending organizations are vying, unabashedly, with each other to secure loans for the country on totally untenable, unjust and suicidal conditions.

He underlined that under tremendous pressure from the youth, women, students, workers, employees, politically conscious section of the society and the masses in general they are  in limbo of neither admitting a clearcut servility of these organizations nor have the spine to  come up with these harsh conditions out in the open that have led to the multitude of miseries in the lives of struggling people.

The irony of the situation is, Com. Imdad Kazi elaborated further, that these elite groups are at loggerhead with one another under concerted strategy to quash their existing graft cases to pave the way for swallowing billions of more money and cover up their inefficiency by assaulting and accusing one another in public to deflect the wrath of the masses and hoodwink them into believing that these corrupt individuals are their messiahs and are sincere enough to remedy their economic and social ills. What can be more unfortunate, Com. Imdad Qazi regretted, than to see these rulers at dagger's drawn with one another in power struggle  while people are smarting under the agony of inflation, hunger, joblessness and starvation with parts of the country washed away by incessant floods of the monsoon rains?

The rulers are oblivious to the fact that food items, medicines and commodities of daily use either are unavailable or beyond the access of the ordinary people due to their exorbitant prices. They have no concern for the poor man's problems. Their politics revolve around the sole aim of cosying up to omnipresent and omnipotent Establishment so that to make the institutions under their beck and call to secure their familial, group, party and class interests.

Com. Imdad Qazi posed questions at the educated and aware section, youth, and the people at large what needs to be done, what these traditional politicians are up to, what is the need of the hour, what is the inexorable demand of the internal and external situation of the country and what are these avaricious politicians busy in? On one hand, the country is burning with a number of crises while on the othe,r the elite of the country is entertaining themselves with playing on its fiddle of lavish lifestyle with all exotic luxuries on can imagine of. This hanger-on elite is sucking the blood of a man in the street with sadistic pleasure not the least bothering about the plight of beleaguered masses. Com. Imdad Qazi further emphasized that instead of hoping any good from the rulers and sending their energies to the drain by fighting for the traditional opportunistic rulers, it is incumbent upon the people from all walks of life to identify themselves with anti-imperialist, pro-masses and progressive political parties which are over decades striving hard with great perseverance and courage against the dominant class of exploiting rulers for  their emancipation and finding solution to their socioeconomic hardships.
